Sally Yost
SALLY YOST. PASTELS, PENCIL, OILS,
GOUACHE, INTAGLIO
I am happiest
painting directly from nature, using simple materials
pencils, pastels, and ink. With more than 30
sketchbooks at the ready for various trips into the world
via canoe, sailboat or vehicle, I am always ready to
capture the scenes of my life. I have also completed
several intaglio etchings using the printmaking facilities
at Chico State University. I have studied at the University
of Wisconsin, Cambridge Adult School at Harvard, California
College of the Arts, Feather River College, Tuscarora
Pottery/Art School, and numerous workshops, including
recent painting trips with Phyllis Shafer and Gregory
Kondos.
After a career as a
graphic designer, calligrapher nd illustrator, I am
exploring all possibilities in pastel, gouache, oils and
pencil. My husband and I have lived in Taylorsville for 30
years and my studio here is open by appointment. My website
